New uninterruptible power supply (UPS) powered by a hydrogen fuel cell was installed in one of our laboratiories

Hydrogen powered back power unit with a fuel cell stack was installed in the XPS laboratory of the Nanomaterials group for insuring Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to Photoelectron spectrometer (XPS) and magnetron sputtering vacuum systems. The unit is supplying 230 AC Voltage and 1.5 kW power during 8 hours using one standard 50 l bottle of hydrogen. The UPS was designed by the LEANCAT company.
